The roots of highness reach back to 1997, I (Ben Highness) and a good friend of mine ?Little Dread? started running a promotion called ?Chimney sounds? at the maze off Mansfield Rd Notts, and the ?Golden Fleece? also a Mansfield Rd venue. It was a true labour of love wheeling our worse for wear boxes down the steep and busy Mansfield road to rumble light fittings out of the fleece ceiling, but the sessions were always cool.
One year on and Little Dread left for Brighton founding the ?Majestic Sound System? leaving myself to carry on the roots tradition in Notts . It wasn?t long before my long term bredren Raffiki moved up from Cambridge, together we created Highness. From then on it was foreward ever backward never for the Highness sound centre!!!
